My job just banned us from using the bathroom if anyone else is on lunch. Is this even legal?
I work at a very popular boutique. Management just rolled out a new policy last week: no one is allowed to go to the bathroom.

They schedule lunches back-to- back, one person at a time. On weekends, we have 6 to 8 employees on the floor covering the counter and helping customers. There is plenty of coverage.

I asked my manager if I could quickly step away to pee. Their exact response was to ask if the person on lunch was back yet, and when I said no, they told me I had to wait.

Next-Drummer-9280 "Here's the deal. I'm using the bathroom when I need to use the bathroom. If you try to stop me, not only will I drop trou and pee on the floor, I'll also report this business to OSHA for violations of the General Duty standard. Your choice."

Interesting Wing_461 This is illegal. Just say I'm leaving to use the restroom because if I don't it's not going to be pretty.
